Multi Combination (MC)
The highest heavy vehicle class for eligible multi-combination vehicles, including B-doubles and road trains
Prerequisites:
20+ years, held HR or HC for 1 year
Heavy Combination (HC)
Drive eligible prime movers with single semi-trailers and heavy combination setups
Prerequisites:
19+ years, held MR or HR for 1 year
Heavy Rigid (HR)
Drive eligible rigid vehicles with 3 or more axles
Prerequisites:
19+ years, held Car for 2 years OR LR/MR for 1 year
Medium Rigid (MR)
Operate eligible 2-axle rigid vehicles over 8 tonnes GVM
Prerequisites:
18+ years, held Car licence for 1 year
Light Rigid (LR)
A practical starting point for eligible vehicles between 4.5 and 8 tonnes GVM
Prerequisites:
18+ years, held Car licence for 1 year
